Terms & Conditions

Please read all terms carefully before completing your reservation. Paying the deposit confirms your acceptance of all conditions below.

This workshop involves handling Japanese urushi lacquer. Its urushiol content in liquid state is known to cause allergic skin reactions on direct skin contact. Please read and understand this material before deciding to participate. Taketombo (dba Goenne.com) shall not be liable for any allergic condition caused by handling Japanese lacquer.

You agree to wear protective gear (long sleeves, gloves, apron, and/or face mask) during the workshop. You agree to sign a liability release prior to all workshop activities. If at any point you are uncomfortable handling urushi, please let us know — you may watch at a comfortable distance and skip hands-on activities.

Tools used may include sharp objects or knives. Use common sense; any medical condition or injury is your responsibility. We strongly recommend obtaining travel insurance before departure.

This workshop is not recommended for young children due to the duration and requirement to handle raw urushi and sharp tools.
The 50% deposit is non-refundable under all circumstances.

All cancellation requests must be made by email to hello@goenne.com.

  • On or before July 15, 2026 — balance payments refunded minus 4.6% transaction fee
  • After July 15, 2026 — no refund of any amount paid

Force Majeure: If Taketombo Corp cancels due to a force majeure event (natural disaster, pandemic, government restrictions), participants receive a full refund of fees paid directly to Taketombo Corp and K.K. Sunship. External expenses booked independently (flights, hotels) are not refundable by Taketombo.

If the program is operational but a participant cannot attend due to travel disruptions, no refund will be issued — 100% of funds paid will be issued as a digital credit toward a future Japan craft workshop, valid for 24 months.

Participants are strongly encouraged to obtain comprehensive travel insurance.

The program fee does not include transportation to or from the workshop meeting location. All local transportation during the program is included. Daigo is approximately 160km / 100 miles north of Tokyo — 2.5 hours by car or 3 hours by train.

Detailed transportation guidance from Tokyo Station will be provided after booking confirmation. Please note:

  • Rural stations may not have elevators or escalators
  • Platforms may be connected by stairs only
  • Some stations may be unstaffed
  • Pack light and allow extra time for transfers

If driving, notify us in advance for parking information. Taketombo is not liable for parking costs or vehicle incidents.

Full location details and first-day meeting point will be communicated by August 1, 2026 via email after booking confirmation. The group will be based at a well-equipped facility in Ibaraki Prefecture for the program duration.

Reservations and seats are non-transferable. If the workshop is fully booked, email hello@goenne.com with subject "Waitlist — Daigo October 2026". If a space opens, you'll have 3 days to confirm before it's offered to the next candidate. Same cancellation policy applies.
